Northern Rivers Councils to collectively bargain with financial institutions

On 27 March 2019, Byron Shire Council, Ballina Shire Council, Clarence Valley Council, Kyogle Shire Council, Rous County Council and Tweed Shire Council (together, ‘the Councils’) lodged a collective bargaining notification seeking to jointly tender, negotiate and administer individual contracts with a financial institution for banking and bill payment services.

Mood Media and Stingray Group to conduct joint negotiations with APRA AMCOS

The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by Mood Media Australia Pty Ltd (Mood Media) on behalf of itself and Stingray Group Inc (Stingray Group) to enable them to collectively negotiate the terms and conditions of music licence agreements with APRA AMCOS.

David Jones to conduct joint promotions with concession stores

The ACCC has issued a final determination re-authorising David Jones department stores to invite “concession stores”, which operate separate businesses within David Jones stores and/or sell through David Jones' online retail store, to take part in David Jones promotions.

The ACCC has previously granted authorisation to David Jones for substantially the same conduct three times, each time for five years.  The current authorisation is due to expire on 17 April 2019, which is why David Jones is seeking re-authorisation.

ACCC authorises collective waste tendering by two Queensland Councils

The ACCC has released a final determination granting authorisation to Central Highlands Regional Council and Isaac Regional Council (the Applicants) to jointly tender, and enter in a contract or contracts, for the acquisition of waste collection services until 4 October 2029.
